“The unexamined life is not worth living.” Plato
I view the counseling process as forming an alliance with you to explore the nature of your concerns. Although we will spend much time exploring the specific concerns that brought you into counseling, we will also look at the nature of your relationship with other significant people in your life.
According to my theoretical orientation, many of the forces that have influenced the complexity and intensity of our problems are rooted in relational issues. I believe that problems in our lives can result from a mixture of faulty belief systems within the self, environmental pressures in childhood and adulthood, and in certain cases a physical/medical component as well. We will work to provide a multi-disciplinary and holistic approach to your care in order to achieve the best outcome.
I firmly believe that each person is valuable and unique. Counseling is a truthful and respectful experience, and careful consideration and respect will be given to your unique values and goals. I do not discriminate on the basis of age, race, ethnicity, color, national origin, language, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, political affiliation, religion or disability.
